About Me

Life of a Lotus Flower is an accumulation of thoughts and ideas, hopes and spiritual advice; wholly gained from my 50 years as a human on earth. The reason I chose this name for my blog is because the lotus flower life cycle is one of struggle, yet determination and the willingness to keep living break forth into an unrivalled beauty. It has a deeply sacred significance with ties to rebirth and spiritual enlightenment. I liken my journey on this plane of existence to that of the lotus flower, re-emerging fresh and new every day to face what the day unfolds.

I have been a creative writer, photographer and digital artist for nearly 2 decades, and I get immense joy and contentment from following my dreams in innovative ways. I have a desire to help others in any way I can, and a commitment to myself to grow more every day into kindness and love. It is my heart's desire to help people find their own path to happiness, peace and spiritual enlightenment.

Currently, I am working on a fiction novel, with plans to turn this into a graphic novel when I finish writing the book. I am also brainstorming and fleshing out other ideas for future graphic novels.

I have been a sewing machinist for two and a half decades, and this has been my main source of income in the years gone past. However, at the end of last year, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which profoundly changed my relationship with work. I found myself no longer able to manage the manual labour that comes with being a sewing machinist. So, I have been seeking a career change, one that taps into my creative abilities as a writer and an artist. It is my most fervent hope that, through a commitment to my work coupled with dedication, my dream of creating an income source with my creative abilities will come to fruition.
